We are looking forward to the day when our campus is again bustling with curious preschoolers, boisterous campers, joyful swimmers, and eager program participants of all ages. In the meantime, we are busy staying connected to DCH families and the broader community and planning for the future.

  • DCH Preschool teachers are connecting with their students through virtual classroom sessions and taking part in professional development.
  • Jenni is busy working on summer camp. At the same time, we are waiting for guidance from health and education officials and will be ready to adapt to any directives.
  • Ann and Jenni are providing fun and enriching activities for families that we share through social media and our website.
  • The DCH Board and senior leadership meet often to ensure that our staff is supported, and the longevity of our organization is secure.

While we still await final regulations for the safe re-opening of our preschool and the licensing of our summer camp, we do know a few things with certainty:

  • Quality, affordable childcare will be key to an economic recovery. With the economy beginning to reopen during the months that schools are closed, many parents desperately need summer options for their children in order to get back to work.
  • Anticipated regulations will limit camp and preschool enrollment. They will also require personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies, and additional camp equipment. These important safety measures will add significant losses and costs to our budget.
  • An increased demand for financial aid is inevitable. Many in our community are suffering financially from the current circumstances. DCH remains committed to serving families of all economic backgrounds. Building up our financial aid fund to do so is critical.

We are looking at all opportunities to sustain personnel and maintain the upkeep of our buildings and campus and plan for increased financial aid—but we need your help.

Your donation will allow DCH to serve the community in new ways during this trying time, to remain intact and ready to open our doors again, and to provide financial aid so our programs are accessible to all. Please donate today. Every dollar counts!

“DCH makes our town a more vibrant place. With the breadth of its programs, scholarships for those in need, and the beautiful, historic Haven House as its center, DCH is an anchor that helps bring people together. I believe charity begins at home, and I’m proud to support this gem in the heart of Dedham!” ~DCH Donor
